The Essex Police Mounted Unit

and Essex Horsewatch

Equine Crime Prevention Day

The day started out sunny and warm, but unfortunately by 2pm, the clouds had come over and it rained! Nevertheless, it was a good day and everyone enjoyed it.

The public were able to meet our new police horses, and we raised some money for our depleted funds through our 'Invisible' Raffle. There was some great entertainment in the arena, courtesy of some dogs playing flyball and visitors were able to get information and advice about a wide range of security issues.

Our thanks to the exhibitors and the public who braved the weather and to the Assistant Chief Constable, Peter Lowton for spending so much time, meeting everybody. Mr Lowton took every opportunity to promote Essex Horsewatch and the work that we do, during his interviews with BBC Essex and Anglia News, whose teams attended the event.
