Theft of Equestrian Equipment From Shed - Abergavenny - Incident Number - 457 20/10/11 - Sometime between 12pm-3pm on 20/10/11 unknown person(s) have entered an insecure shed in the Llanelly Hill area of Abergavenny and removed 26 pieces of horsing equipment / equestrian items to value of approx. £2,600. A white transit vehicle was seen in the area around the suspected times, partial index of TVB/VTB (last 3 digits).

Brown dressage bridle with white lining, full size, brand new. Including reins with rubber on inside. Liveryman flare Rechargeable Horse Trimmers, brand new, in box. Long brown yard boots, Rydale (Dubarry style), size 8 adults. Used but good condition. Dublin Aristocrat boots (long black laced riding boots), size 8. Well used but good condition. Woof wear white brushing boots, set of 4, almost new. Full size. Brown Tredstep gaiters. Adults, approx size medium. Used once/twice. Charles Owen velvet showing hat with brown leather chinstrap/harness, Adults approx size 60cm. Champion Ventair skull cap. Adults approx size 60cm. Black with silver stripe. Brown English leather breastplate. Size cob. Brand new, never used. Full cheek French link snaffle, stainless steel. Approx 4.5''. 5'' eggbutt snaffle. 5'' French link eggbutt snaffle. Brown English leather riding crop, used once. 2 pairs of brown leather riding gloves, one used and one new. Full size pale green saddle cloth, dressage style. Used once/twice. Burgundy saddlecloth (John Whitaker) with white lining, cob size. Brand new white saddle cloth, full size. Brand new white Griffin Nuumed half pad, large. Brown Griffin Nuumed half pad. Old but good condition, large. Brown leather stirrup leathers and stainless steel stirrups and treads. Black cottage craft girth, size 48'', old and well used. Also small things such as a full large bottle of apple cider vinegar, half a tub of garlic powder and half a tub of Codlivine supplement, and also a whole box of tack cleaning stuff. The saddle was not clearly marked 'Farrington' so thieves may sell it as an 'English leather GP saddle' or possibly as an Albion saddle, as the saddle had an Albion cover on it. |

owner: "Brand new Middleweight turnout rug removed
from my pony whilst in the field, apparently a family
consisting of male, female and three children were seen
at approximately 1.00pm feeding a pony over the fence
holding a rug. The witness did not suspect anything
wrong as they looked as if they knew what they were doing
and were perhaps just removing or putting on a rug.
She also did not realize that this a pony that belong to

| Stolen 29/30.12.09 from stables in Cawthorne, Barnsley 1) 1 x full size pair black John Whittaker leather draw reins - roughly 1inch wide leather and brand new - had brass clips at each end of the rein and a leather girth loop with a brass ring on.
2) 1 black leather over sized sabre Cordoba bridle - looks brand new - noseband is a crank style and is approx 11/2 inch wide - both nose band and brow band are raised leather. This bridle has half rubber lined leather reins - also in black and also brand new, these had martingale stops on (black rubber stops). The bridle had a Sprenger Aurigan KK Ultra bit - brass colour mouth piece with stainless steel rings - rough size of mouth piece 5 1/2inch. This bridle also had a brand new Sabre black leather full size hunting breastplate with running martingale attachment. Also hung up with this bridle but not attached was the standing martingale attachment which had a stainless steel clip.
3) 1 x black leather over size Albion drop noseband - again brand new - the part that sits over the nose is roughly 1 inch wide, has 2 buckles - 1 each sid eof the cheeks, and wasnt attached to a bridle.
4) 1 x black leather full size sabre finesse bride - this has a raised and gel padded brow band and flash noseband. However the noseband didnt have the extra strap on for the flash part so looks like a plain caveson with a little leather loop at the front. Again this bridle was brand new and had brand new black full size half rubber lined leather reins - again they had black rubber martingale stops. this bridle had a Sprenger Aurigan KK Ultra bit - again brass coloured mouth piece with stainless steel rings - rough size of mouth piece 5 1/2inch. this bridle also had a brand new black leather full size Sabre hunting breastplate. This didnt have any martingale attachment on.
5) 1 x brown leather full size sabre bridle - flash noseband but again no flash strap on so looks like a plain caves on with little leather loop. Not brand new and leather was scuffed on noseband. leather is slightly dry. This had a raised brow band and caveson noseband. Again this bridle also had brown half rubber lined leather reins, the reins were a few years old and there was some damge to the stitching on the rubber. This bridle had a stainless steel loose ring lozenge bit rough mouth piece size 5 1/2inch. this bridle also had a sabre leather hunting breastplate with martingale attachment - again this is a few years old so some scuffs to the leather.
6) 1 x brown leather sabre full size grackle bridle - leather was dry. Grakle noseband has sheepskin pad on the underneath of the cross over leather patch. Has raised brow band and also has brown half rubber lined leather reins. Bit again is 5 1/2inch loose ring lozenge bit. also had a brown leather full size sabre hunting breastplate .
7) x brown leather cob size GFS advantage bridle. Has raised brown band and caveson noseband. some scuffing to noseband and some corrosion to buckles. Has Sabre full size half rubber lined leather reins and 5 1/4inch stainless steel loose ring french link bit. Also has Sabre brown cob size leather hunting breastplate with running martingale attachment. A trailer was also attacked during this incident - tyres slashed and graffitti sprayed all over. Stables were attacked with a hammer.

A burglary has taken place at stables, in Tilsworth, Leighton Buzzard, between 3:00pm and 5:00pm, on the 28th October. Offenders have approached, and removed then padlock from a horse shed. Offenders have conducted a search, and have stolen horse vitamins, and a harness. Two horse rugs were taken from the horse stable. Two tall white males, were seen in Citroen Berlingo looking round, but thecrime was not witnessed. |

A burglary has been reported to a shed, near a stable in Adstock, Bucks between 12:30pm and 3pm on the 29th October. The shed had been left insecure and unknown offenders stole five head collars from inside. North Yorkshire Police is appealing for
witnesses and information following the theft of around
£30,000 worth of equestrian equipment from a livery yard
in Stapleton, Pontefract. Over 30 saddles
were stolen from the Stapleton Park Estate
overnight Sunday 4 October and Monday 5 October, ,along
with around 40 bridles and other equipment such as riding
boots and hats, horse feed, and 10 boxes of Maxi worming
tablets. Police are urging people to get in touch if they
are offered equestrian equipment or horse feed for sale.

October horse items were stolen from 2 locations in
Higher Odcombe, Yeovil. Offender(s) entered a
field in Park Lane and stole 4 rugs from horses backs, 2
rugs were also removed from other horses but left in the
field: a trailer in the field was also entered
where a further 2 rugs were stolen. A stable at the
location was also entered and 2 further rugs were stolen
along with a first aid kit, horse medicines, lunging
equipment and a training halter. At the 2nd location, offender(s) entered a shed in a field in Hollow Lane and stole first aid items, bandages, rugs, lunge equipment and a quantity of headcollars with lead ropes. Some of the items are marked with the letters CJM and the rugs are marked with BA21 3BQ. Thieves steal £20,000 of show tack from Jo Bates' yard Tack thieves struck in Oxfordshire this week, stealing around £20,000-worth of tack from a yard shared by showing rider Jo Bates and event rider Pip Taylor. The break-in happened overnight near Banbury on Tuesday (11 November). Among the haul were two black Albion dressage saddles, a Jaguar gold buffalo leather jumping saddle, a Sattlerei straight cut saddle and a Berney Dublin show jumper saddle. Many other items, including show and double bridles and a number of reins and girths were stolen, too. "They forced the lock on the tack room which is in an internal barn," Jo told H&H. "We have security lights, but they must have been watching the place because they parked in an area which isn't covered by lights." The break-in was discovered at 6.10am by yard staff on Wednesday morning (12 November). Although none of the tack is postcoded, Jo told H&H most of it is highly distinguishable. Stolen between 0100 and 0800 on Wednesday 8/10/2008 from Collingham, Newark, Nottinghamshire. Approximately £100,000 worth of Shultz Western horse riding tack and associated equipment stolen. The haul included an Ifor Williams 505 two horse trailer, Equitrek two horse trailer with living accommodation, Claydon horse solarium and a Yamaha Big Bear Quad bike along with numerous other pieces of equipment. The victim is believed to be the only supplier and Schulz Western tack in the country. Below is representative example of the pieces stolen. The victim believes that this could be shipped out of the country as it is so distinctive and would stand out at any Western shows.

To make it even worse all this equipment was left to me by my very good friend Sylvia Mactaggart. Sylvia taught me to drive carriages and encouraged me to start competing at club level in local events, her dying wish was for me to carry on competing and left me all her equipment. I have enclosed two pictures of Sylvia and I competing at Wix Equestrian Centre Essex with Sylvia’s driving pony and the carriage that was stolen. Stolen from a riding school, in
Sutton, near Sandy, on Tuesday the 29th of July, at 10:20
in the morning. STOLEN 9th July 2008 - From Equestrian Clearance Warehouse, Halifax. During the night of Tues 8th/Wed 9th July, thieves forced their way into the above premises and stole 30 new saddles. Wintec, Colligate and Bates. STOLEN 15th July 2008 From Ogden Equestrian Livery Yard, Halifax. In the early hours of Tues 15th July, possibly approx 3.30am.15 saddles and bridles were stolen from the livery tack room.One saddle is stamped with the name Helen. The week prior to the burglary Ogden was visited by two men in a red van offering pressure washers for sale. It is not known if this is connected. Stolen from Tankersley Hampshire, 04/05.03.08 - A large quantity of Farrier's tools were stolen along with the Farrier's vehicle whixch has since been recovered minus its' contents.
Stolen from stables in Little Kingshill, Great Missenden, Bucks. overnight on 24-25 February. A large quantity of tack, valued at approx £15,000. Items stolen include:

A stable yard was broken into on Saturday 4th Aug in Wooburn, Bucks and the following items stolen. A mini Shetland driving harness, black synthetic with leather on the pad and crupper, with a three inch snaffle bit on the bridle. Was in a chequered laundry bag. A black Wintec 17.5” wide saddle, an Aukland 16”med dark pony saddle with a crupper on the back, a black leather Full Size bridle, with white padding on brow and nose bands and a straight bar snaffle and continental reins, an English black leather pony bridle, and a mini Shetland black leather bridle, 3 “jointed snaffle bit with a brass clencher brow band. Crime Reference Number GF 9776502/07 refers.
POLICE are trying to trace the owners of six
horse saddles.
The saddles, which were discovered with tack in the Bidford area
on July 12, are currently being stored at Alcester police
station.
They are described as a black Thorowgood Walsall Griffin saddle
on a Shires equestrian rug, a black leather Wintec Bates
Saddlery, Australia, saddle with tag saying "Laurie May,
Polly", a brown leather saddle with a pink Shires equestrian
rug, a black leather saddle with no detail and a black leather
saddle Ideal Handcrafted Saddle Co, Walsall, with brown
Thorowgood girth.
